Every generation in my family has been born in another country. I have Portuguese ancestry and some of my grandparents and both my parents are from Mozambique.  My siblings and I are born in South Africa. On top of this Africa has a extremely complex circumstance around heritage, nationality and borders. This all seems very are arbitrary to me. How have we used topographic features of landscapes to define us nationally, culturally and historically? This has been an ongoing interest of mine and here are some of the projects I've worked on in the past.
